Phyllanthus fluitans - Red Root Floater

Phyllanthus fluitans is an attractive floating plant from South America. Its beautiful leaves have a velvet like appearance that can become red under strong lighting. The root system is also red giving the plant its common name ‘Red root floater’.

Like most floating plants, P. fluitans is an easy plant to grow does well in a range of lighting and water conditions. P. fluitans is excellent at oxygenating the water and removing excess nutrient due to its fast growing capabilities. It is recommended for most aquariums and ponds as long as the surface water has a gentle flow.
