Red Moss - Caloglossa cf. beccarii

Caloglossa cf. beccarii aka Red Moss is a unique and striking specimen in the aquarium. Although it is treated as a moss it is technically an algae. Its colour can vary between grey, brown, maroon and red depending on its environment. Red moss adds fantastic coloration to the aquarium and is particularly eye-catching when placed amongst the greenery. The best effect is achieved by tying the Red moss onto rock where it will eventually form a beautiful bushy mass. Currently a rare species in Australia.
