Bucephalandra is an alluring genus of plants that is native to Borneo in the Malay Archipelago. It is relatively new to the trade but is surging in popularity amongst hobbyists. Two main reasons for its high demand are its attractiveness and undemanding nature.

There are hundreds of varieties that come in different sizes, shapes and colours. Depending on the species, the leaf shape can be oval, wavy edged, almond or lance-shaped. Bucephalandra  come in an assortment of colours such as green, purple, blue, brown, pink and even multi-colour. The characteristic that all Bucephalandra share are the silvery dots that cover submersed grown leaves. These micro glitters are very apparent and is and one of its appealing traits.

These plants are similar to Anubias in appearance and also their care levels. They are easy to grow and have low light requirements but stronger light will result in faster growth and colouration. Bucephalandra does best when attached onto rock or wood where their strong root growth can quickly take hold onto the surface.

Whether it is in a shrimp tank or high-tech planted aquarium, Bucephalandra will make a wonderful addition to your collection.

Comes established on 3x3cm lava rock tile. Each piece is unique and is selected at random
