Hygrophila polysperma

Hygrophila polysperma is one of the easiest and hardiest plants available. Its adaptability allows it to grow in almost all environments making it an excellent plant for beginners. No CO2 or strong lights are required. This plant is highly variable depending on its environment. Its leaf shape and colour will change according to the light supplied.

Because of its quick growth rate, Hygrophila polysperma is great for soaking up excess nutrients (e.g. Nitrates). Propagating this plant is also simple, just snip stems and replant it into the substrate.
